Visiting Ukrainian parliamentarians Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze and Oleksandr Merezhko met with federal officials, diplomats, and provincial stakeholders in Ottawa to request financial contributions for electrical transformers and electronic warfare equipment ahead of winter. The delegation is asking the Canadian federal government and provincial governments, including an upcoming meeting with the Government of Ontario, to fund energy grid rebuilding initiatives managed by the European Union's Energy Community. North American-built transformers are incompatible with European infrastructure, making direct financial contributions to European-standard transformer construction essential to counter Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy, water, and sewage systems.
