The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, through the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, has issued a public disposal tender via www.merx.com/govnl to sell a large, unused 100,000-square-foot air-supported dome structure. The membrane structure was originally procured for the cancelled Kenmount Crossing Acute Care Campus project but was never deployed and is currently professionally packed and stored. Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Barry Petten noted that the competitive disposal tender aims to eliminate ongoing storage expenses, maximize value for taxpayers, and allow private-sector, community, or institutional operators to utilize the asset for high-occupancy recreational or public events.
