The Edmonton Police Commission announced that its upcoming public meetings scheduled for September 17, October 22, and November 19, 2026, will be held virtually via Zoom without public speakers or the 'Input from the Public' agenda item. The Commission stated that public discourse had escalated beyond legitimate governance criticism into personal attacks, threats, and intimidation targeting commissioners, staff, and police members following tense debates regarding Edmonton Police Service Chief Warren Driechel's trip to Israel. While public speaking slots have been eliminated, the Commission will continue to accept written correspondence strictly related to the board's mandate.
