  The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, through the Department of Health and Community Services led by Minister Joedy Wall, has launched a public and stakeholder engagement process to inform a review of the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA). The consultation addresses findings from the 2023 PHIA Review Report regarding access, disclosure, governance, and accountability, as well as young people's privacy rights and decision-making authority in response to concerns raised about parental access to children's health information and the implementation of MyChart through CorCare. Residents can submit feedback via an online questionnaire on EngageNL.ca until September 21, 2026, or via email and mail until September 30, 2026, to inform potential legislative amendments in the fall.
