The Ontario government is investing $100 million through the Building Ontario Fund as part of a $384 million financing package to support infrastructure expansion at Trent University in Peterborough. Delivered in partnership with Trent University, the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), and project developer Knightstone Capital Management, the project will construct two new student residences—Gidigaa Migizi College and Otonabee College—on the East Bank of the Symons Campus, adding 1,400 student beds. Additionally, the development will create approximately 134,000 square feet of new academic and student space, including modern lecture halls and support amenities, with construction scheduled for completion in August 2029.
