The Government of British Columbia has approved a budget of up to $57 million and commenced construction on a new 60-bed mental-health and substance-use treatment facility located at 6833/6869 King George Blvd. in Surrey. Developed in collaboration with Fraser Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority, and local partners, the renovated secure facility will provide specialized care, treatment, and rehabilitation services—including involuntary admission capacity under the Mental Health Act—for individuals with complex needs in the Fraser Health region. Construction is underway, with the facility scheduled to open by spring 2028.
