Prime Minister Mark Carney announced $100 million in new aid for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank during the United Nations General Assembly. The funding package allocates $80 million toward humanitarian aid, with the remaining balance dedicated to security initiatives, including top-up funding for a multi-year project to train Palestinian police. This brings Ottawa's total pledged aid for Palestinian civilians to more than $600 million since the Israel-Gaza war began in October 2023.
